Meet Truro Chiropractor Dr. Mike

Dr. Mike SpenceAfter receiving a hockey injury at the age of 12 and getting superior results from chiropractic care, Dr. Mike set his sights on becoming a chiropractor.

“I had played organized sport since I was a child, and at a very young age I was sidelined due to excruciating back pain.  After trying the medical approach without any success, my parents took me to their chiropractor.  After a dramatic turn around with chiropractic care, I decided I wanted to be a chiropractor”.

Dr. Mike began his formal studies at Dalhousie University obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and his diploma in Respiratory Therapy before he was accepted at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto, Ontario.

During his four years of studies at CMCC, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, x-ray diagnosis and chiropractic adjusting techniques.  His clinical Internship and patient care were completed at St. Michael’s Hospital.

With many years spent studying in the city, Dr. Mike eagerly returned to his home province of 22 years, Nova Scotia.  “I am a Maritimer through and through!” says Dr.Mike, “this is my home.”

“I have spent hundreds of hours and traveled thousands of miles to attend various seminars in order to keep up with the most current chiropractic research and the latest techniques in the chiropractic profession.  This keeps my skills in top form.”
