Athlete to Chiropractor

After receiving a hockey injury at the age of 12 and getting superior results from chiropractic care, Dr. Mike set his sights on becoming a chiropractor.

“I had played organized sport since I was a child, and at a very young age I was sidelined due to excruciating back pain. After trying the medical approach without any success, my parents took me to their chiropractor. After a dramatic turn around with chiropractic care, I decided I wanted to be a chiropractor.”

A Hands-on Profession

What appealed to Dr. Mike about chiropractic is that it’s a hands-on active profession versus a desk job. Before he could apply those healing hands to patients, Dr. Mike began his formal studies at Dalhousie University, obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and his diploma in Respiratory Therapy. He then was accepted at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto.

During his four years of studies at CMCC, courses included biochemistry, anatomy and human physiology, X-ray diagnosis and chiropractic adjusting techniques. His clinical internship and patient care were completed at St. Michael’s Hospital.

Dr. Mike also keeps up with current chiropractic research. “I have spent hundreds of hours and traveled thousands of miles to attend various seminars in order to keep up with the most current chiropractic research and the latest techniques in the chiropractic profession. This keeps my skills in top form.”

Dedicated to Family and Community

Dr. Mike enjoys spending time with Dr. Celina and their two sons. Drs. Mike and Celina are also very dedicated to serving the community by promoting wellness. “We walk the walk when it comes to fitness. We want to lead by example.” Dr. Mike enjoys family hikes, downhill skiing, snowshoeing and golf. He also enjoys mountain biking and road cycling (ALOT!!), and in the last few years has travelled to Italy and France riding his bikes in the Dolomites and Alps mountain regions.
