Custom Orthotics at Well Within Chiropractic
Custom orthotics change the way your body moves! They absorb more impact when you walk, run, or stand. Orthotics have come a long way in the last 30 years. Technology has allowed them to go from being cumbersome and awkward to now being streamlined and simple to use. We use The Orthotic Group (TOG) at Well Within Chiropractic. You can have them customized for your needs, which may include sports footwear or dress shoes. The inserts will fit in almost all of your shoes.
How do I get started? How long will it take to get them?
Dr. Mike has done specialized training to fit for these custom inserts. The process includes a history of your concerns, orthopedic testing of your feet, knees, hips and lower back. If orthotics are required, Dr. Mike will do the foam cast for you at that visit. The cast is then sent to TOG and within 2-3 weeks the inserts arrive. You will then visit one more time for wearing instructions and to ensure they are a proper fit.
How long do they last?
They usually last 2 to 3 years. You are welcome to have a check-up at 2 years to ensure they are still working for you. A great perk to using The Orthotic Group is that there is a lifetime guarantee of breakage or cracking of the thermo-moulded plastic.
Can I use my insurance?
Most insurance plans cover orthotics. A quick call to your insurance company will let you know what your coverage is and if you need a referral from your general practitioner.
